Fundraising

The WCMS is a non-profit driven by dedicated volunteers with no physical office.  In March 2020, the Society contracted a part time Administration & Communications Manager to help with the workload, which significantly increased in many ways due to the pandemic.  The expenses are kept at a minimum and we rely on the support of the communities to raise funds for the Multiplex to become reality!  We have two different funds:

Society – Operational with Capital funds
To cover the operational expenses of the Society, including fundraising and expenses/reports related with capital funding.  The Society is responsible for raising all capital funds through grants, funding applications and donations.  Also provide capital funds.

Facility – Capital funds
To cover the building costs of upcoming facility.

GRANT APPLICATION: Facility – Capital funds  (Waiting to hear back)

In July 2021, the West Coast Multiplex Society and Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations on behalf of our eight west coast communities applied for the “Green and Inclusive Community Buildings Program” grant which could provide up to $19 million for the construction of the Multiplex Phase 1 – Arena.
