The WCMS is a nonprofit driven by dedicated volunteers with no physical office. In March 2020, the Society contracted a part time Administration & Communications Manager to help with the workload, which significantly increased in many ways due to the pandemic. The expenses are kept at a minimum and we rely on the support of the communities to raise funds for the Multiplex to become reality! We have two different funds that cover different expenses:
Society – Operational fund
To cover the operational expenses of the Society, including fundraising and expenses/reports related with capital funding. The Society is responsible for raising all capital funds through grants, funding applications and donations.
Facilities – Capital fund
To cover the building costs of upcoming facilities.
Jan 1st, 2021 – CLOSED FOR DONATIONS!
Help us raise capital funds beneficial to support grant applications and necessary to build upcoming facilities.
We are grateful for all community support including donors and the Clayoquot Biosphere Trust!
GRANT APPLICATION: Facilities – Capital fund
In Oct 2020, the West Coast Multiplex Society and Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations on behalf of our eight west coast communities applied on the second intake of the Canada-British Columbia Investing in Canada Infrastructure program – Community, Culture and Recreation Stream. The grant would cover a substantial part of the capital costs for the construction of the Multiplex Phase 1 – Arena.
GOLF FUNDRAISER: Society – Operational fund
The next West Coast Multiplex Golf Scramble will be Sept 18th, 2021.
In Sept 2020, the West Coast Multiplex Golf Scramble raised $27 000!
Thanks to the amazing support from all community members and businesses.
The West Coast Multiplex Society and all those who share the dream of a Multiplex on the West Coast would like to give a shout out to
and staff for hosting our event for the 20th year; two tournaments in one day this year to conform with health guidelines.
Also a special thanks to Tacofino for lunch & dinner, the Wickaninnish Inn for their tents enabling us to host our entire event outside rain or shine, the 72 golfers, and the online auction bidders for their generous support during the 20th Annual West Coast Multiplex Scramble formally the Stick in the Mud Open.
THANK YOU to the wonderful sponsors and donors, we appreciate your support!
